I am a digital entrepreneur and marketer driven by performance and measurable results that make a real impact on businesses. I thrive on discovering and scaling optimal solutions for complex, high-stakes projects. To help my clients achieve this, I founded UKRCONTEXT, a successful (Google Premier Partner in 2023) performance marketing agency dedicated to delivering data-driven growth.
Do you want to talk about your new challenge with me?
My story in short…
I was born in Ukraine on May 22, 1983, into a family of engineers and accountants—where precision, discipline, and goal-oriented thinking were deeply valued. Growing up in this environment shaped my mindset and approach to problem-solving..
My official name, transliterated from Ukrainian, is Andrii Kozynets, but in business communications, I prefer the English version: Andrew Kozynets.
Education
My passion for computers and programming began in childhood. As a teenager, my hobby led me to connect with students from NaUKMA University who were studying HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I became fascinated by web development and started learning on my own—eventually adding PHP and MySQL to my toolkit. I built my first website in 2000, when internet access in Ukraine was just starting out. To update a webpages, I would go to an internet café with a floppy disk containing the website and manually upload it hosting.
Although my professional path began in tech, my formal education took a different direction. I earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Thermal Power Engineering from Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding. My thesis—“Innovative Heat Exchanger for Aggressive Gas Media”—along with the experimental stand I developed, was recognized as the best in my graduating class.
Everything I know today about Digital Marketing, Web Analytics, Conversion Optimization, SEO, and SMM, I learned independently—driven by curiosity and the real-world demands of delivering results for my clients.
My Career Path
My professional journey began before university, with an internship at one of Ukraine’s first web development companies. In 2000, I built my first website, and while studying Thermal Power Engineering, I turned my passion for automation into a small business—creating custom Excel tools to help students with complex engineering calculations.
In 2006, I co-founded INVIDEO, a regional digital signage agency, where I led IT infrastructure and launched a web development division. This sparked my shift toward digital marketing. Following the 2008 crisis, I co-founded UKRCONTEXT, one of Ukraine’s early performance marketing agencies. I later became the sole owner, expanding our services into SEO, analytics, CRO, and SMM.
In 2013, I joined the VC-backed startup DriverNotes as Marketing Director, focusing on user acquisition and monetization. Then in 2016, I co-founded AVA DMA, a U.S.-based Google Ads agency, where I led service delivery across time zones and markets.
Since 2021, I’ve Manage the Marketing for a European investment fund (under NDA), where I helped grow assets from €2M to nearly €28M and scaled the user base to over 118,000 investors.
Hobbies & Life Beyond Work
I’m an avid PC gamer, and in my youth, I was deeply immersed in strategy games like Red Alert and StarCraft, as well as FPS classics like Quake and Counter-Strike. I competed in tournaments, won prizes, and gained skills—like decision-making under pressure and strategic thinking—that I still apply in business today.
My second big passion is travel. I love exploring new cities and cultures. In just two weeks of 2024, I traveled over 20,000 km and visited three countries. I also enjoy swimming, cycling, and hiking—anything that keeps the mind and body sharp.
In 2022, I fulfilled a dream and embraced the digital nomad lifestyle, moving to Tallinn, Estonia—a city at the heart of Eastern Europe’s digital innovation. After two years in its chilly but beautiful Nordic charm, I traded the cold for the warmth of sunny Cyprus, where I now live by the Mediterranean Sea.
Outside of work and travel, I’m passionate about science, space, technology, and psychology—always curious, always learning.
